Maple’s sapwood ranges from nearly white, to an off-white cream, sometimes with a reddish or golden hue. The heartwood tends to be reddish brown.

Heavy, hard and strong wood, White Birch is the sapwood of Yellow Birch. It is straight-grained with a fine uniform texture and light-brown to white.
