Product terminology (ex NLND, OE/IE/P, opening size)

  • NLND (No Lip/No Detail): This option is specified when requesting a door to not have an Outside Face Edge and Outside Back Edge. It is a common detail used with contemporary and flush-inset face frame styles. Most door styles can be made with No Lip/No Detail, though sometimes a detail change may be necessary.
  • No Lip: This detail indicates a completely square outside back edge. It is normally selected for doors and drawer fronts that will have knobs or pulls installed on their face. No Lip is a very common Outside Back Edge Detail to order.
  • Lipped: This Outside Back Edge Detail refers to a 3/8” x 3/8” lip to be routed along the perimeter of a door or drawer front. This is not typically a popular option for new cabinetry when ordering from Decore-ative Specialties.
  • P/IE/OE: These are terms to describe Panel Details, Inside Edge Details, and Outside Face Edge Details. For example, the “P” in “P3” indicates that this is a Panel Detail. The “IE” in “IE3” indicates this is an Inside Edge Detail and the “OE” in “OE4” indicates that it is an Outside Edge detail.
  • Finish Door Size: When Finish Door Size is specified, this is an indication that sizes provided to Decore-ative Specialties are to be made at the size given. For example, if a piece is ordered with a Finish Door Size of 12” wide x 24” high, we will produce a door at this dimension. In essence, the actual size of the door requested.
  • Cabinet Opening Size: When Cabinet Opening Size is specified, this is an indication that sizes provided to Decore-ative Specialties are not the actual size of the door to be ordered; rather they are the opening dimensions of the cabinet that it covers. This method is used exclusively for face frame cabinetry.
-If an item is ordered with Cabinet Opening Size and No Lip on the outside back edge, we will add 1” to the overall width and height of the piece.
-If an item is ordered with Cabinet Opening Size and a Lipped / Outside Back Edge, we will add 1/2” to the overall width and height of the piece.
  • Single Door: One door made to fit the dimension requested.
  • Pairs: Two doors made to fit the dimension requested. *Note: Decore-ative Specialties does not make deductions for gaps between doors or other items. These deductions must be figured in the sizes provided.
